Looking after your cashmere

Our cashmere care top tips:

  • Neglect is often the best thing for cashmere – don’t overwash. A good airing on a bright, dry day is often all your cashmere knits need.
  • If you do wash your cashmere, do so by hand in lukewarm water with a specialist detergent. Try flat between two towels and away from direct heat. If needed, iron on a cool heat.
  • Storage – hanging cashmere can stretch the fibres. Folding is best. When storing over summer, wrap in tissue paper in zip-lock bags. If you’re extreme in your cashmere care (like us!) – try freezing your cashmere (in zip-lock bags) for 48-hours before putting it away to ensure you kill any moth eggs.
  • Pilling is not a sign of poor quality but happens to even the finest cashmere. Invest in a cashmere comb, lay your garment flat and pass the comb carefully over the surface to pick up any bobbles.
